The Replacement Index
A personality assessment for the age of AI. Twelve scenario-based questions map you to one of sixteen developer archetypes — each with distinct strengths, blind spots, and preparation advice. Results stay in your browser. No right answers exist.
Take the Assessment
12 questions. 4 axes. 16 archetypes.
Each question presents a real developer scenario. There are no right answers — only honest ones. Your responses map you to one of sixteen AI-preparedness archetypes.
Takes about 2 minutes. Results saved in your browser only.
What Is This?
The Replacement Index is Project Nothing's second experiment. It uses a four-axis personality matrix — inspired by frameworks like MBTI but designed specifically for how developers relate to AI — to classify you into one of sixteen archetypes.
The axes measure your position on four spectrums: Autonomy vs. Mentorship, Skeptic vs. Embracer, Builder vs. Facilitator, and Depth vs. Orchestration. Your combination produces a four-letter code (like ASBD or MEFO) that maps to an archetype with a name, description, and actionable preparation advice.
Your result is saved in your browser only — nothing leaves your device. The quiz runs entirely client-side. This is an experiment in self-reflection — the only value is the conversation it starts with yourself.
The Four Axes
Do you work best alone, or do you thrive when guiding others? The lone wolf vs. the teacher.
How do you relate to AI tools? Cautious evaluation vs. eager adoption. Both have value; neither is wrong.
Do you reach for the keyboard or the whiteboard? Hands-on creation vs. system coordination.
Do you go deep on one thing or keep many plates spinning? The specialist vs. the generalist.
