Perfect Score

Forty-two of the greatest games ever made, taken apart into ten ingredients you then have to buy.

The question

Given a fixed budget and the same ten ingredients, will strangers converge on one greatest game — or scatter across incompatible ones and rebuild something that already exists?

Experiment log6
  1. launched — ten ingredients, 500 points, forty-two canonised games on the same axes
  2. kill condition set before the build: 100 shipped builds in fourteen days, or it dies
  3. the optimiser broke the first model — given a budget and no floors it built a game with five ingredients at 100 and five at zero, so table stakes were derived from the dataset and cost 311 of the 500 points
  4. the finding the page was not designed to make: a game scoring 100 on all ten ingredients rates below three quarters of the canon, because it maximises every conflict at once and has no peak
  5. no art, audio, code or data from any real game — every cover is drawn at runtime from the ten numbers under it
  6. a build is stored as ten numbers and what it turned out to be nearest to; there is no author on any record, including for us
