Insula
A running argument about what the old city builders got right, made out of cities that simulate.
Did you like it?
- What it does
- Small cities that actually run, each making one argument about what the 1998 city builders got right.
- Who it is for
- For anyone who still thinks about Caesar III.
Notes from the making (4)
- launched — three simulated cities, one of them breakable
- nothing on the page is a screenshot: the walker paths, the field is computed, the houses are drawn at the rung they hold
- no art, code or data from any existing game — every shape is drawn from its footprint at runtime
- no price and no email box: the only metric is whether strangers ask for the sandbox
This page stays up whatever happens to the experiment. The record it is drawn from is public: /api/nothing/experiments.
