- built in one evening as a phone-first userscript: select text in a ChatGPT reply, collect fragments, send them back as one prompt. Copied into the phone by hand from a hosted page
- tap replaced text selection — a word, widened to sentence and paragraph, grown across paragraphs by tapping toward other words. Per-conversation lists; exports became the whole conversation with the fragments appended
- renamed three times in one day. DigBoard collided with a scuba company, Winnow turned out to be a live Chrome extension, Pickaxe is an AI-agent platform; Assay screened clean on both stores. The lesson — search the stores before naming — is written into the contract so it costs nobody a third afternoon
- release pipeline live: a merge builds a reproducible package and mints a GitHub Release; v0.8.1 carries the data-collection declaration Firefox now requires (none). Store listings and the site are the remaining gate before anything is announced
- promoted on the studio’s front page and in the essays’ colophon — the essays and the book behind them are written with it
- in a finished release state: the extension installs from assay.projectnothing.ai, ships from its own repository, and is the tool the essays are written with. Nothing left to build for this question; the stores’ own counts are the instrument
