One Square of Earth: one place, changing through time

About

ONE SQUARE OF EARTH

The evolution of humanity, on one square of earth.

One small piece of land, from the first fire to AI. People arrive, clear the forest for fields, build a village, then factories, then a city, then a city run by AI. Then the question the piece is about: what happens after AI?

The ground never moves. The old tree, the boulder, the waterfall and the line of the first path are there in every era. Things are built one block at a time and taken down the same way. The footpath becomes a cobbled road, then asphalt, then a lane of light, then a trail again. Houses are rebuilt on the same lots. Ruins stay. Where nothing is in use, the forest grows back.

The eras are stages, not dates. The ending is one guess, not a forecast. Seasons run on their own clock.

Press play, or drag the timeline to any era. Click an era’s name to jump there. Drag the island to move it; scroll or pinch to zoom. The arrows turn it a quarter at a time. The season button holds a season.

Every block is placed by code written with AI. No images or 3D models were used.

A Project Nothing experiment. It might be gone next month.

Laying the ground…

From the first fire to AI, and after

Wilderness

Before anyone came. Old trees, a spring and a waterfall.
